The Jones Act
One of the ways we help injured seamen is through actions pursued under the Jones Act. The Jones Act is a federal law designed to help injured seamen. The Act covers members of a crew and crew masters. It covers people who work on vessels in navigation.
Employees who have suffered a maritime injury who are not covered by the Jones Act may be covered by the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act / Defense Base Act or other maritime and admiralty laws. Attorneys Dennis Nalick and Don Gisevius are experienced maritime and admiralty lawyers who are capable of representing injured seamen and workers in a variety of contexts. If you have been injured at sea, on the river or on a major waterway, whether you are a crew member or a worker providing repairs on a vessel, we can provide the quality legal service you need.
